Very nice Vintage Asian Bamboo basket.
This is a southeast Asian, Thailand, tobacco storage basket. These baskets are handmade for personal use, an added coin for good luck, which is common practice for the region.
Master weaving shown here with bamboo and rattan, brown color comes from smoking the baskets. Coin is dated 1937.
Purchased while traveling Thailand 1980’s, stored since. Pictures show you each and every angle, no hidden damages. Natural patina.
