Very unique Southeast Asian tobacco storage basket, typically originating from regions like Laos or Thailand. These baskets are handwoven from bamboo and rattan, often featuring an original cord and a “lucky coin” attached, which is common practice in the region, top and bottom plates were med from oval wood plates. Coin is from 1917
Purchased in 1980’s and stored since. Basket is stained red.
