This antique cabinet from France has a rectangular-shaped top overhanging the body/case below which houses a pair of small half-drawers at top, above a pair of recessed panel doors, which open to reveal a shelf and plentiful storage within. The design is clean and minimal. The skirt remains plain and this piece is lifted upon squared, tapering legs at front and block style wooden feet at rear. The custom finish is a slight two-toned effect in softer and warmer shades of taupe (which read neutral from a distance). The rear legs have newer metal repairs which add strength and durability to the cabinet. This 19th century French console cabinet is a nice versatile size; just short of 4 feet in length, offering great storage and display opportunities without taking up too much floor space. It would make a great server in a smaller dining area or work beautifully in an office or living room. See less
