This French Provincial oak armoire, likely crafter between 1880 and 1910, combines craftsmanship with functionality.
Features include:
- Hand-cut dovetail drawers with wood-on-wood glides
- Solid brass escutcheons and a working skeleton key
- Adjustable interior shelves
- Pegged panel construction with mortise-and-tenon joinery
- Flared crown molding, arched paneled doors, and turned bun feet

Previous owners regularly cared for the wood and had purchased this piece from an antiques dealer from the Netherlands.
Notes on Age & Authenticity:
Based on tool marks, joinery, and hardware, this armoire is believed to date from the late 19th to early 20th century, possibly originating in the Netherlands. The hand-cut dovetails, wooden drawer runners, pegged back panels, and lack of MDF or plywood all support this dating. The hardware is cast brass, not pressed or faux metal, and shows genuine age patina.
Disclaimer: While exact provenance is undocumented, this piece displays all hallmarks of antique European cabinetry. Its construction techniques and materials are consistent with pre-1920 furniture, not modern reproductions.
