Constructed of solid wood (likely oak), the cabinet features three glass-front doors with original hardware and fixed interior shelving. The cabinet retains its original brass identification plate, affixed to the front and engraved with the company name and a multi-part inventory number, consistent with early corporate asset-tracking systems. The cabinet retains a warm, original patina. Glass panels are intact, and the brass plate remains legible and securely attached. Wear and some warping is consistent with age and use and contributes to the authenticity and character of the piece.

Libby, McNeill & Libby, was known for its large-scale industrial production of canned meets and vegetables, with headquarters in Chicago and nationwide operations. This is a documented example of early American industrial furniture.
