There's a small piece of cloth collaged on the surface. This came from a Paris Flea Market where I received a small bundle of sample swaths of cloth stapled to cards. On the back of the cards it said, "Lower East Side, sample textile, 1920s." In a broad way, that is part of my family story of immigration.

The abstract collage notes the various emotional states given in a neighborhood on the lower east side of New York during that era. The collage includes other cloth samples against a plaster background. It is smartly frame and is not under glass.

Note a very small chip on the right side of the frame which is not visible from the front. See less
