Monumental and highly decorative French Belle Époque fireplace screen, crafted in cast and pierced brass in the form of a grand radiating fan. The screen features multiple fan-shaped panels with intricate pierced detailing, centered by an elaborate sculptural crest with classical cameo medallion, floral relief, and draped garland motifs.
The substantial base is richly modeled with scrolling feet and architectural elements, giving the piece strong visual weight and presence. Even at rest, it reads as a sculptural object rather than a purely functional accessory.
The brass retains its original antique patina, showing warm golden tones with areas of darker oxidation and subtle verdigris—highly desirable and consistent with age. The surface has not been polished, preserving historical character and depth.
This is a statement-scale hearth piece, far more elaborate than typical Victorian or Edwardian screens, and ideal for period interiors, Beaux-Arts spaces, Art Nouveau–influenced rooms, or eclectic settings where sculptural fireplace objects are desired.

The brass retains its original, unpolished patina with natural variation in tone, including areas of darker oxidation and subtle verdigris. Minor surface wear, light scratches, and small irregularities are present throughout, as expected for a late 19th–early 20th century piece. One small original pin at the base is absent; this does not affect the structural integrity, stability, or functionality of the screen. No other losses or repairs observed. All panels are intact and securely attached. Presents exceptionally well as both a functional fireplace screen and sculptural decorative object. less
