The set is a married ensemble of six chairs and four closely matched chairs, assembled to form a cohesive and generously scaled dining set.

According to the original dealer receipt from Tom Hayes & Associates at the Atlanta Decorative Arts Center (ADAC), the chairs date to the late 19th century and are of Italian origin. The receipt notes slight carving variations between the two groups, most notably at the front knee carving, which is typical of married sets and visually subtle when the chairs are placed around a table.

The frames retain a painted finish with gilt accents, showing areas of wear, chipping, and patina consistent with age and use. All chairs functional for seating.

On some of the older chairs, the upper back cresting elements show looseness at the joinery, consistent with age.

All chairs retain older and discolored upholstery. that needs to be replaced. This set presents an excellent opportunity for custom upholstery and conservation or refinishing, making it ideal for a designer, decorator, or collector seeking authentic European seating with character and scale.
