This is a handwoven Torrey pine needle basket created by artists Fran Kraynek-Prince and Neil Prince.
10 x 10 x 4.5 inches
The baskets are crafted using fallen needles from the rare Torrey Pine, found along the Southern California coast.
A distinctive feature of their work is leaving the cut ends of the pine needles exposed, creating a textured, rhythmic pattern, as seen in the image.
Their highly collectible baskets are included in the permanent collections of several museums, including the Smithsonian Institute and the American Craft Museum in New York City.
