This exquisite two-panel folding screen (Byōbu) depicts the iconic Red and White Plum Blossoms, inspired by the masterpiece by Edo-period Rinpa painter Ogata Kōrin.
Each screen is meticulously handcrafted using authentic Kanazawa gold leaf, a traditional Japanese craft designated as a Traditional Craft of Japan in 1977, and is finished by skilled artisans with hand-painted details. The red and white plum blossoms contrast elegantly against flowing water rendered in silver leaf, creating a refined and dynamic composition.
