Artist Biography
Michael Stoffa (1923–2001) was an American painter known for landscapes and marine paintings inspired by coastal environments. Born in Czechoslovakia, he trained in the United States at leading art institutions including the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and the Art Students League. In addition to his studio practice, Stoffa was a respected art educator and served as president of the Rockport Art Association. His work is appreciated for its traditional technique, painterly surface, and atmospheric quality.
