Superb pair of wall sconces by Mathieu Matégot, made in the 1950s, in perforated metal (rigitule), cream-colored. They have been cleaned and restored to their original appearance. The rhodoid plates that filter the light bulb's intensity have been replaced (a set of two extra is included).
Their condition is exceptional; the layer of dust that covered them has preserved them from the effects of time, and the brass parts, which had tarnished over time, have regained their full luster. The perforated metal section is adjustable. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
issues arising from misattribution,
