This amazing hand-painted desk sign, dating to the circa 1920s, is a striking example of early 20th-century banking and financial ephemera, offering both strong visual impact and historical character. Boldly lettered with “Loans · Bonds · Foreign Exchange,” it immediately evokes the atmosphere of a period bank, brokerage, or private financial office, when signage was designed to project authority, stability, and trust. Crafted from dark wood with distinctive triangular side supports, the sign has a solid, well-balanced presence, while the expertly hand-painted lettering remains highly legible and visually engaging. The underside retains its original cloth bottom.
Measuring 12 inches wide, 4 inches deep, and 4 inches high, and weighing just over one pound, it is perfectly sized for display on a desk, bookshelf, or office vignette. Good antique condition with some signs of wear and handling. Please review the photos for further condition assessment.
Both decorative and evocative, this piece makes a unique display object or an exceptional gift for finance professionals, collectors of vintage signage, or anyone drawn to the history and craftsmanship of early financial institutions.
