The square top is framed by a slightly darker border, creating a refined stage for a plant, vase, or sculpture. The lower shelf offers extra space for books, a smaller plant or a stack of magazines.

The wood has a deep, dark-brown patina with subtle colour variations and light signs of use, just enough to give the piece warmth and character. The grain is beautifully visible on the top, and the legs taper gently towards the floor, giving the stand a light, almost architectural look. On one of the legs, there is a small stamped mark with the kanji character 松 (matsu, “pine”), probably referring to the maker or workshop.

In an interior this is a versatile piece: as a plant stand in a corner, beside a sofa with a reading lamp, or as a small side table for a vase or art object. Thanks to the dark wood tone, fresh green plants and colourful ceramics combine particularly well with it.
