Empire Consulate mahogany commode stamped by Jean Baptiste Gamichon, a Parisian cabinetmaker who worked in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. He primarily worked with mahogany. This piece rests on four legs, two of which are lion's paw feet at the front.
This commode features four large drawers, a marble top, and trefoil locks. It is adorned with mercury-gilt bronze mounts. Several hallmarks are found on this chic and elegant piece. It is in very good condition.
