Rare and beautiful teak and oak expandable dining table by Karl Erik Ekselius, made by J.O. Carlsson of Vetlanda, Sweden in the 1960s. The oak frame rests on four sleekly tapered legs of the same wood, contrasting nicely with the teak top. This particular combination of materials was commonly seen in Danish modern designs from the same period, namely those of Hans Wegner and Borge Mogensen.
With the two included leaves, it extends to just under seven feet, accommodating up to 8 guests with ease. The top narrows subtly towards the ends, giving it a bowed edge that creates additional passing room around the table.
Fully refinished in a durable satin lacquer.
