This sculptural mid-century studio pottery piece features a wide, low-profile form with four integrated rests along the rim, originally designed as a table ashtray and equally suited today as a decorative catchall or accent tray.
Finished in an earthy, crackle-glazed stoneware with natural tonal variation, the piece has a substantial weight and grounded presence. The shallow center and architectural rim reflect the organic modern design sensibility popular in American studio pottery of the 1950s–1970s.
The underside is unglazed and signed with an incised initial, consistent with hand-crafted studio work. Its versatile scale makes it ideal for styling on a coffee table, console, or bookshelf.
