Dimensions: height 30 cm, width 37 cm, depth 7 cm.

At the centre a stylised flatfish is depicted, surrounded by subtle motifs of starfish, jellyfish and other sea creatures, as if you are looking at a calm seabed.

The copper has been worked in repoussé, hammered into relief with punches and then lightly patinated, creating soft shifts in brown, copper and dark grey. The piece is signed in the lower right corner.

A wide wooden frame surrounds the relief. The combination of warm wood and aged copper makes this a very atmospheric wall object.

The relief is in good vintage condition. On the back there is a hanging device, so it is ready to hang.

A decorative, timeless accent that works well in both modern and more classic interiors – perfect on its own on the wall, or grouped with other artworks and Japanese objects. See less
