The cabinet is made of solid elmwood, with six equal-sized drawers above two pairs of double doors that open to large storage compartments below. The bronze pulls on the doors are pear-shaped to symbolize fortune and prosperity.

This is a wonderful example of why authentic Chinese antiques are so timeless and highly desired: beautiful, graceful and clean design, eminent functionality and sturdy, handcrafted construction assembled with traditional tenon and mortise joinery.

This heavy, solid piece has been well-maintained and has beautifully-aged patina. It would make a stunning statement in a large reception or living area. With the finished back panels and back apron’s delicately carved cloud motif, this piece can float in the middle of a large room to subdivide the space.
