VINTAGE ORIGINAL OIL ON CANVAS PAINTING
Depicting a rural landscape at night with the full moon reflecting in a river surrounded by trees.
Painted in an impressionist style, possibly en plein air, with quick, confident brushstrokes.
Signed indistinctly to the lower left, we are unsure of the artist, but there is a romantic feel to the piece, translated onto the canvas by a good hand.
Probably dating from somewhere in the first half of the 20th century, circa 1920s-1950s and is probably French in origin..
Overall, the painting is in good vintage order; it is in completely untouched and unrestored condition with minor wear commensurate with age. There is a small hole in the canvas to the upper left, but this isn’t hugely noticeable when displayed on the wall.
Overall approximate measurements: 60cm wide x 50cm high x 2cm deep.
