On the Design:

This stunning kilim is a rare display of intricate detail, featuring a mesmerizing tribal motif achieved through expert slit-weave technique. The main field is covered in a dense, all-over pattern of repeating geometry.

This pattern is the bukagi fetter, or the two-sided arrow, a powerful motif often symbolizing unity among its varied cultural interpretations. To see such a fine, tightly repeated pattern with an impressive variety of colors and a subtle sense of movement is quite special, especially as achieving this level of detail in a slit-weave kilim is notably difficult.

The rich, dark charcoal-brown ground allows the small, polychromatic motifs in deep red, soft blue, and mustard yellow to shimmer with inner life.
