A rare pair of super-stylish white ‘cesca’ barstools in good vintage condition. Designed by bauhaus giant marcel breuer in the 1920s, this sleek, smart and tasteful pair of barstools was likely made in italy in the 1970s and will add lovely light colouring, timelessly chic styling and a relaxed mediterranean aesthetic to any interior.
this pair is the barstool version of the cesca s64 chair, also known as the b64, which was designed by breuer in 1928 and named after his daughter, francesca. Part of the moma collection, the cesca chair is widely regarded as one of the top 10 most important chairs of the 20th century, and thanks to their simplicity, utility, durability, comfort and stylishness, they have become a favourite of design lovers worldwide.
this stylish pair features white chrome-plated tubular steel frames supporting off-white-ivory beech wood frames with rattan upholstered seats and backs. A standout set of barstools, this charming pair won’t fail to add a distinct, smart and timelessly chic aesthetic to any setting.
condition
this pair is in good vintage condition with signs of their age. Structurally sound and very comfortable, they appear to be all-original and the rattan is in great original condition. Rattan woven seats should be used with a cushion to prolong their use and prevent any possible damage. They have to-be-expected signs of wear including marks to the tubular and wooden frames, which could be touched up but only adds to their vintage appeal. Each barstool has two original plastic slide-grip feet, which show wear, cracks and ageing. Overall this is a rare, stylish, versatile and very comfortable pair of barstools in good vintage condition and if well looked after they should be just as impressive for generations to come – please see the photos.
