Charles Dudouyt (1885–1946) was one of the great French interior designers of the 1930s and 40s: he modernized the rustic style with sculpted volumes, exposed joinery, and geometric patterns.
His furniture, often made of solid oak, emphasizes the material and the craftsmanship, eschewing superficial effects, for a straightforward and timeless elegance. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
