In the 1960s and 70s, the swiss architect and designer klaus vogt (1938) designed the "squadra" cabinet series. It encompassed various sizes, dimensions, colors, and door shapes. One thing they all had in common, however, was that these sculptural cabinets were anything but "ordinary" and formed a highlight in any living space. Our example was manufactured by the swiss company portmann + meier ag. It is an early version, constructed from lacquered plywood. Later models used the significantly heavier material mdf (medium-density fiberboard). The cabinet has a visible back panel, allowing it to be freely positioned in the room if desired. It is in very good, almost mint condition. There are no signs of wear whatsoever. A professional cabinetmaker from zurich meticulously restored the cabinet. The old lacquer was completely removed. All imperfections were then repaired, and everything was freshly lacquered. The interior and the adjustable shelves were sanded and oiled. There are no signs of wear whatsoever. Height 150cm. I have official proof of authenticity such as vintage catalogs,
designer records,
or other literature sources and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising
from
misattribution
