The edges rail of the chair features exceptionally deep relief carvings of acanthus leaves. The artistry of the wood carver defies understanding since the three dimensional carvings are one and half inches deep. The legs are also carved in great detail with Solomonic legs. Ideal as a desk chair or as a stand-alone chair as a statement piece, circa 1880. See less
