The interior shows the natural reddish-brown clay body. The exterior is beautifully adorned with hand-painted graphic art featuring rich gold detailing. The main scenes include stylized blue and black mountains and a figure dressed in a blue and black robe, possibly a scholar or sage, kneeling or sitting in contemplation. Other golden elements, such as a tree or flowing lines of clouds/mist, complete the landscape decoration wrapping around the body. The lid is similarly glazed and features a central finial and a repeating pattern of golden floral or foliate designs. The overall aesthetic suggests a piece intended for display , blending a rustic clay form with delicate, ornate decoration.
