This substantial vintage desk lamp features a long curved metal shade paired with a sculptural stepped base—an iconic Streamline Moderne silhouette associated with American Art Deco design of the late 1930s and 1940s.
Finished in its original brown enamel, the lamp has a strong architectural presence, with clean horizontal lines and a weighted base designed for stability. The articulated gooseneck arm allows for directional lighting, making it both visually striking and highly functional.
The shade is fitted with original push-button controls, a hallmark detail seen on period office and library lamps produced in Chicago during this era. While unmarked, the form, construction, and switch configuration closely align with documented examples by Art Specialty Company, a well-known Chicago manufacturer of professional and institutional lighting.
