This handsome 19th-century French Provincial walnut buffet à deux corps is a classic two-part cupboard combining sculptural presence with generous storage. The upper cabinet features paneled double doors with elegant serpentine profiles and decorative wrought-iron escutcheons, opening to shelved interior storage. A molded cornice with subtle carved floral detail crowns the upper section.
The lower case mirrors the upper with paneled double doors, original iron hardware, and a beautifully scalloped apron accented by carved floral and foliate motifs. The cabinet rests on short bracket feet, lending lightness to its substantial form. Richly grained walnut throughout shows warm color variation and honest patina developed over more than a century.
This piece works equally well as a kitchen cupboard, dining room buffet, or statement storage piece, and retains the charm and character expected of authentic French provincial furniture.
