A true functional sculpture, this monumental early 20th-century table is a masterpiece of folk art and Brutalism before its time. More than just a piece of furniture, it is a work of interior architecture that commands attention with its extraordinary materiality.
Carved from exceptionally dense solid oak, it is distinguished by its spectacular tabletop, which varies between 10 and 14 cm in thickness. The surface, rich in texture, bears the marks of time and the hand of the craftsman, offering an organic feel that only centuries-old wood can provide.
What elevates this table to the status of an art object is the striking contrast between its massive structure and the delicacy of its ornamentation: on the raw edge of the tabletop, fine, naive floral engravings meander through the wood, a moving testament to a forgotten folk art craft.
Its design is a feat of technical ingenuity: the tabletop is divided into three massive sections that slide onto the crossed trestle base, all held together by an impressive system of threaded rods and 32 mm bolts. Robust engineering built to last for centuries.
with its dimensions of 240 cm and a depth of 78 cm, it is ideal as a stately dining table or executive desk in a creative space. A rare collector's item, embodying the Wabi-Sabi philosophy, perfect for a minimalist interior, a gallery, or a property with character.
It weighs approximately 170 kg. It can be delivered disassembled (with a simple reassembly video) or fully assembled.
