Beautifully crafted in solid walnut with engraved sculptural backrests, original black leather seats, and the iconic brass connector detail. Increasingly hard to find as a complete set.

designed in the mid-1970s, the africa model represents one of the most expressive and collectible seating designs created by the scarpas for maxalto. The chairs feature twin vertical back splines joined by a brass plate, highlighted by the bold concentric carvings that define the silhouette. The walnut frames display a warm tone and refined craftsmanship typical of early maxalto production. The seats retain their original black leather upholstery, naturally patinated and consistent with age. Their sculpted ergonomic profile offers comfort without losing the architectural quality of the design. A highly sought-after set suitable for curated dining rooms, design interiors, studios, galleries, or hospitality environments. Authentic 1970s italian craftsmanship at its finest.
