This magnificent 37.5-inch bronze sculpture, titled "Accumulating Knowledge," is a definitive work by the internationally acclaimed German-born Israeli artist Tolla Inbar (b. 1958). Created in 2006, this piece belongs to one of Inbar’s most sought-after series, which explores the "spiritual optimism" of the human condition.
In this series, Inbar utilizes the book—the universal symbol of human wisdom—as a physical support for spiritual elevation. According to the artist, each book read contributes to a "pillar of knowledge," motivating the individual to seek further enlightenment and curiosity. The figure's posture, reaching skyward with an open volume, represents the soul’s movement toward fulfillment and the "victory of energy over matter".
Signed and dated by the artist.
From a distinguished Southern California estate collection.
Tolla Inbar’s work is deeply influenced by her academic background in psychology and sociology from Tel Aviv University, which allows her to cast complex human emotions into permanent bronze forms. Her sculptures are held in numerous prestigious private and museum collections worldwide, including those of major international figures.
