Built from rich, dark walnut, the piece is defined by an impressive architectural silhouette and an abundance of deeply sculpted ornamentation. The upper and lower cabinets feature raised panels framed by carved moldings, each panel adorned with classical motifs such as urns, scrolling foliage, and stylized florals. Faux columns and boldly carved pediments further enhance its architectural presence, while the generous central surface offers both function and dramatic visual impact. Additional charm comes from the detailed drawer fronts, each finished with carved wooden pulls that echo the decorative language of the piece. True to the style, it stands on distinctive carved lion’s-paw feet—an iconic Renaissance Revival element that anchors the substantial form. This heirloom-level cabinet reflects the artistry and opulence of 19th-century Italian craftsmanship and was originally retailed by Inessa Stewart’s, a well-known purveyor of high-end European antiques. Three keys are included. See less

The most notable wear is found on the carved feet, which show substantial loss and deterioration from age, particularly at the front corners (see photos).
