A small Futurist masterpiece on a black background, a splendid 1920s frame. Antonio Marasco Nicastro (1896 – Florence 1975) was an Italian painter, sculptor, and writer belonging to the Futurist artistic movement. Born in Calabria, he developed his artistic vocation in Florence, where he met Filippo Tommaso Marinetti and his new artistic movement, which he joined and which he explored through European experiences, making it a propulsive and definitive choice in his life and artistic experience. In 1932, he founded the Independent Futurist Movement, of which he was the undisputed leader. This movement was presented in Supremazia futurista, the manifesto of the Independent Futurist Groups accepted and recognized by Marinetti himself. At the end of the Second World War, which profoundly upended his life but did not dampen his Futurist spirit, he resumed his artistic research in Rome. He died in Florence in 1975. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
