1950’s dark oak single back bar bentwood dining chairs - set of six
high quality good scale dining chairs produced by the famous czech firm ton, still trading today and producing beautiful chairs. After world war ii, the thonet factory in bystřice pod hostýnem (czech republic) was nationalized by the state in the era of communism in czechoslovakia. In 1953, the company was officially renamed ton, which is an acronym for továrny na ohýbaný nábytek, meaning “bentwood furniture factory” in czech. We have gently restored the frame but kept the original character and patina which is what this chair is all about. A strong sturdy chair of good scale with comfortable crescent shaped backs. We service each chair individually before it leaves our workshop and we deliver chairs of excellent quality.
seat height: 46cm.
we hold large stocks of original vintage chairs for private and commercial use. At time of listing we had 14 chairs in stock. The price listed is for one chair and you can order any quantity subject to the maximum available – for large orders please contact us for stock availability. Please note pamono systems are unable to process multiple quantities past 9 units, to purchase more than this please contact pamono and we will happily amend the listing to the quantity you wish to purchase. In most cases we have also already set up sets of four and six chairs to make the process easier. To locate these sets just search the product title.
workshop report:
our workshop team inspect every product and carry out any needed repairs to ensure that everything leaves us serviced and maintained ready for many more years of life. All of our vintage products show the rich beauty and history of their life with the knocks and bumps of many years of use and we try to minimise restoration to keep every piece as original as possible.
