The shield like design of the wood makes us think of knights and armors; but the "4 MG" makes us think of car racing. So we are truly unclear what this sign was originally made for; but today it's a lovely decorative piece, and nice addition to any sign collection. We estimate it to be mid 20th Century. Possibly European.
