This solid wood, rectangular table is supported by square tapered legs joined by a stretcher base, lending both visual integrity and structural strength. The simple, utilitarian design reflects Shaker and early New York State farmhouse craftsmanship, likely from the Syracuse or greater upstate New York region—an area known for its abundant hardwoods and practical joinery traditions.

Perfect as a display table, occasional library table or writing desk, or console, this versatile piece balances rustic authenticity with timeless restraint, complementing interiors from colonial revival to Japandi minimalism. This piece shows its age and is not recommended in a high use area. Much better suited as an occasional table or desk because it does creak when pressure on top is added.
