These are a pair of African, hand-carved, wooden, tribal figures with unique faces and headdresses. These types of carvings frequently served roles in religious ceremonies, storytelling, or as representations of ancestors and spirits. These were probably locally sourced and shaped using traditional tools and techniques, passed down through the generations. These are well-made and are visually, quite stunning. There is a triangular, metal ornamentation on each forehead, of both pieces.
