This vertical totem-form piece is constructed from interlocking rectilinear steel plates, hand-cut and hand-welded in the classic 1960s–1970s studio-craft style.

The surface shows authentic vintage patina with heat-formed coloration, oxidation spotting, and subtle variations from the original welding process — all characteristic of period Brutalist metalwork. The sculptural form creates bold negative space and dramatic silhouettes from every angle.

Mounted on a polished slab of solid marble with subtle gray veining, giving the piece visual weight and contrast. A strong architectural presence makes it ideal for a console, bookshelf, pedestal, or entry display.

Unsigned, as many studio Brutalist works were, but clearly the product of skilled hand fabrication. See less
