A beautiful print titled "tempting bait" by hans zatzka (1859-1945). Copyrighted 1905 by louis wolff & cie ltd (established), 245 tottenham court road, london - printed in vienna. Louis wolff & cie were london printmakers founded in 1878 who produced high-quality prints for both artists and popular artists of the time. Working from 1878 to around 1930, they used various printing methods, including etching, photogravure, and photography.
based on tottenham court road in london, they also produced oil and watercolor paintings and made frames. Hans zatzka, born march 8, 1859, in vienna, austria, and died december 7, 1945, was an austrian painter of academic and religious works. He is also known as p. Ronsard, pierre de ronsard, or h. Zabateri. In addition, he signed many of his paintings as joseph bernard, j. Bernard, or bernard zatzka.
he studied at the vienna academy of fine arts from 1877 to 1882. He created, among other works, numerous church decorations in vienna, mayerling, olmütz, and innsbruck.
he was the brother of the architect ludwig zatzka and the great-great-uncle of the viennese actress hilde sochor.
