The thick board rests on four beautifully carved legs, giving it the presence of a small low table in the room.

Dimensions: height 20.5 cm, width 44.5 cm, depth 41 cm.

The board has a classic 19x19 playing field with crisp lines. The top shows a warm golden-brown tone with subtle grain and only light signs of use. The underside features a discreet geometric detail in the centre and four characteristic, faceted legs.

The set comes with two round wooden gokei with lids, turned from wood with a beautiful, flowing grain. One bowl holds the white shell stones (clam shell), the other the black slate stones. The set is complete with the traditional number of stones: 181 white and 180 black. The flat, smooth stones feel good in the hand and produce that calm, distinctive click when placed on the board.

A beautiful set for the experienced Go player who appreciates authentic Japanese craftsmanship, and at the same time a sculptural interior piece: placed on a low table or directly on the floor, this goban has an almost meditative presence in the room. See less
