Mid-century capiz shell pendant lamp made in italy in the 1960s.
it is made of translucent discs of placuna placenta shells, which are appreciated for their pearly appearance.
mother-of-pearl shell panels, each of which is carved from a separate natural shell and enclosed in a thin metal mesh.
capiz shells have traditionally been used as a substitute for glass due to their durability and transparency.
very good vintage condition. Electrical cables have been renewed to professional electrician.
