This vintage museum quality hand carved white Italian marble sculpture dates from the late 19th century. The sculpture features the bust of a young woman, beautifully rendered by famed artist A. Piazza. It is an exceptional work of art in very good condition. She is dressed in period clothing & wears a stylish bonnet. A banner, titled “FARFALLA” is draped off her left shoulder. The sculpted bust rests upon a secure base that allows it to be spun 360 degrees. The sculpture may be removed from the base & stand on its own. The back of the sculpture is signed A. Piazza Carrara.
