Dimensions: height 7,5 cm, width 32,5 cm, depth 23,5 cm.

The box is made from beautifully grained hardwood in a warm reddish-brown tone. The rounded corners and perfectly polished finish give it an almost soft, silky sheen. In the centre of the lid sits a golden chrysanthemum (kikumon) – the classic Japanese symbol of dignity and long life.

The box consists of two precisely fitting parts with a removable lid. According to the enclosed leaflet, it is made from selected natural wood, finished entirely by hand and treated in a natural way. The maker received several craft awards in Japan in the 1980s.

The box is in perfect condition and can be used today in many ways: as a stylish place to store correspondence, notebooks or drawing materials, but also for jewellery, small collectibles or simply as a discreet, luxurious accent on a sideboard or desk. See less
