The frame is composed of reverse-painted and gilded glass panels featuring mythological dragons, grotesques, urns, and scrolling foliage on a deep red ground — classic motifs of the Italian Renaissance Revival. The workmanship and luminous gilding exemplify the refined decorative arts produced in Florentine workshops of the period.
