This rare pair of early 20th century Japanese covered Karabitsu bowls are beautifully designed in lacquer ware with a vivid red interior. The unusual covered bowls have a detailed hand decorated exterior elaborately decorated with delicate gold scrolling vines & leaves. Ancient medallions featuring a crane with outstretched wings motif complete the design.
