A stunning hinged lid cover is decorated with an oval vivid hand painted scene, illegibly signed by the artist. This painting displays many costumed characters of the period meticulously rendered within a serene countryside. The interior of the box has a light tan suede material. The overall condition of this treasure is very good, save some wear to the material especially in one corner of the lid cover (figure 10). The base of the box is stamped “AUSTRIA”.
