Beautiful art by Richard Dey de Ribcowsky captures the beauty of the sea with incredible detail and precision. The oil on canvas has been kept under glass why its vibrant colors stand out still today, original gilded frame as well.
The pictures do not do justice but does show the plaster damage on the frame, as seen in pictures, all large pieces are accountable and stored safely away, will be shipped with the painting.
Richard Dey de Ribcowsky (1880-1936 ) was a world traveled Bulgarian born artist know for his dramatic seascapes. He was in Argentina on 1904, founded the Academy of Beaux Arts that year. Between 1908-1910 he was traveling and exhibiting his art and winning awards in Uruguayan, Ukraine, Brazilian, Bulgaria, Brazil. Being that this is signed in 1909 I’m unsure of its definitive origination.
He did settle here in the United States, NYC in 1910, went on to the west coast California in the 1920’s.
