The piece … Read more This is an original 1950s Sligh Furniture “Cross Country” dresser manufactured by Grand Rapids Chair Co. in Michigan. The piece features the line’s distinctive stepped horizontal drawer fronts, clean architectural lines, and excellent mid-century proportions.

All eight drawers are clean inside, slide smoothly, and retain their original integrated pulls. The case is structurally solid and has the original factory markings on the back panel (“Cross Country” / Sligh Furniture / Grand Rapids Chair Co. / model number stamp).

The finish shows surface wear consistent with age and storage, with light scuffing and top-surface dullness. The wood underneath is in good condition and would respond well to a light restoration or full refinishing. The design and construction quality are consistent with Sligh’s premium mid-century offerings.
