Small scale antique Anglo Indian porcupine quill pencil box, c.1900
Made in Ceylon, now Sri Lanka, as a local folk art using discarded quills and ebony. This one has a sliding lid which opens and closes smoothly. I call them pencil boxes as they remind of sliding top pencil boxes l had at school. Good overall condition with all quills and dots intact. Recently waxed and polished
