The wooden element functions like an external architectural crest—part framework, part protective canopy—emphasizing the idea of the human head as a constructed dwelling shaped by structural decisions, supports and material contrasts. Its focused composition and compact scale place the work at the intersection of architectural portrait sculpture, contemporary concrete craft and collectible small sculptures. Cast in high-hardness cement using a silicone mold, the sculpture retains the natural characteristics of the material: pores, tonal variations, visible joints, subtle abrasions and the slight irregularities inherent to handmade casting. The surface is hand-tinted with water-based pigments and sealed with a semi-matte varnish to preserve chromatic nuance and texture. The chestnut wood, treated with lasur, introduces a warm organic counterpoint that defines the upper silhouette of the piece. The cement mixture includes fine aggregates for crisp modeling, acrylic fibers to prevent shrinkage cracking, and a water-reducing agent to maintain fluidity while preserving structural integrity.
